Skin lumps and bumps are common in children, ranging from benign conditions to those requiring medical attention. They can appear at any age and on any part of the body. The causes of skin lumps vary from benign growths, infections, congenital anomalies, genodermatoses, neurocutaneous syndromes to even malignancies. Prompt identification and management of skin lumps can prevent complications and improve outcomes, especially when the lump is indicative of a serious underlying condition. Providing clear and accurate information to parents can alleviate their concerns and anxiety.
