Dermatomyositis belongs to a group of rare autoimmune conditions characterised by a variable degree of skin symptoms and myopathy. Cutaneous manifestations represent key clinical features of DM and can be categorised as pathognomonic, characteristics, compatible, or rare. In this review, the cutaneous manifestationss of dermatomyositis is revisited, focusing on the association between specific cutaneous manifestations and defined autoantibody profiles. A brief update on management of dermatomyositis will be included as well.
